MechArtisan LLC provides a different kind of product development service than what is typically identified with the creation of new products. Given the full spectrum of services available under one roof at the MechArtisan LLC studio, the development of a product can involve anything from design, to prototyping, to manufacturing planning and vendor selection. With the full array of services available from a single source, it drastically streamlines the development process for our clients and provides the level of confidentiality that is paramount during the creation of something new. When approached with a new product development project, our standard process is as follows:

  1. Generation, Review and Signatures on mutual NDA (Non-Disclosure) documents to protect all parties.

  2. Thorough understanding of the client's goals, motivations and concerns.

  3. Review of the current status of pre-existing development including any market research, patent work and preliminary design and prototype efforts.

  4. Create and Maintain a web-based project management site that is specific to the Clent's needs and acts as the primary portal for all communication, record keeping, file storage and time management for the entirety of the project. 

  5. Identify any further market analysis that would benefit the efficient development of the product and coordinate with external market research providers to fill in any gaps.

  6. Preliminary concept sketching and iteration with client team.

  7. 3D CAD modeling of approved concepts including a review/iteration cycle with client team.

  8. Prototype creation and testing, subject to multiple iterations

  9. Final 3D CAD modeling of the approved final prototype, complete with documentation packages including part and assembly prints and BOM's (Bills of Material).

  10. Vendor Quoting for analysis of production costs
